Thompson high school - thstv

When I was a sophomore in high school, I was brought on to my school's journalism and television staff as a video editor and photographer. After that, I began to pursue writing and storytelling as a reporter and news anchor, focusing on sports and the athletics department. By my senior year, I was the lead intern of THSTV, working on the field for Thompson's sports teams including the AHSAA 7A Football State Championships. Outside of THSTV, I worked with the Performing Arts Center as an Assistant Technical Director, becoming a lead technician and videographer for events such as the Miss Alabama's Teen Pageant.

2025 national high school journalism convention

In February 2025, I was named the Alabama Journalist of the Year by the Alabama Scholastic Press Association. In April, I headed off to Seattle, Washington for the National High School Journalism Convention. I was nationally recognized for my title and represented the entire state of Alabama completely by myself. Throughout the convention I met other journalists and news writers, experienced workshops that helped build my skills, and had one of my stories critiqued by experts in the broadcasting field. I even submitted my broadcast feature story for the National Student Media Contest--which thousands of other students submitted for--and was one of 400 students to receive an award.
